Miss Chico and Miss Teen Chico 2026: Redefining Beauty and Empowering Young Women (2026)

The annual Miss Chico and Miss Teen Chico Pageant, held at the Chico Elks Lodge on June 7, 2026, was a resounding success, showcasing the beauty and talent of the young women of Chico, California. The event, organized by the Forever A Queen Organization, aimed to go beyond superficial beauty standards, emphasizing instead the development of confidence, leadership, and community involvement among its participants.

The pageant featured a full day of competitions, including Evening Gown, Fitness Wear, and Interview categories. Karris Rose Spath and Coco Weller were crowned Miss Chico and Miss Teen Chico, respectively, by Chico Mayor Kasey Reynolds. The winners will now represent Chico on the state stage, continuing the legacy of previous winners Makayla Mellinger and Gracie Yost, who made it to the Miss Teen California USA semifinals last year.

However, the pageant took an interesting turn when Miss Teen Chico Coco Weller, a talented dancer with three national dance titles to her name, was unable to compete in the Miss Teen California USA pageant due to her commitment to representing the United States at a dance world championship in Italy in July. As a result, runner-up Maryalice Powell was promoted to co-share the Miss Teen Chico title and will now represent Chico at the Miss Teen California USA pageant.

Weller, on the other hand, will showcase her world-class dance skills at the Miss California America pageant, where she will compete in the talent competition. This strategic shift highlights the versatility and adaptability of the pageant's participants, who are not just beautiful but also talented and driven.

The pageant also recognized the importance of community support, with the Chico Elks Lodge and local business We Do Designs playing pivotal roles in transforming the venue into an elegant setting. The event's success was attributed to the strong backing from the community, with many sponsors, both large and small, contributing to the overall success of the event.

The Forever A Queen Organization, the driving force behind the pageant, emphasizes its mission to empower young women through leadership development, confidence-building, and community service opportunities. By providing a platform that goes beyond the traditional pageant, the organization aims to redefine beauty standards and empower young women to become confident, poised, and socially conscious leaders.

In conclusion, the Miss Chico and Miss Teen Chico Pageant is more than just a beauty contest; it is a transformative experience that empowers young women to become leaders in their communities. The event's success and the impact it has on its participants highlight the importance of such initiatives in fostering confidence, leadership, and community involvement among young women.
